A Chinese dissident has shared his story of escaping his native country. The man, Dong Guangping, made a perilous journey by dinghy to South Korea. His trip lasted around 40 hours and was made more challenging by a dying phone.

Dong's journey did not end in South Korea, as he was detained there. Despite the obstacles, he was able to continue on and recently arrived in Canada. This was a destination he had been considering for over a decade.

Further details of Dong's story are available from KPRC 2, including his experiences in detention and his eventual arrival in Canada.
