A foodborne parasitic illness is being monitored by federal and local health officials in Texas, including in our area. The illness, known as Cyclospora, has been reported in 17 states, with 145 domestic cases nationwide.

In Texas, the number of cases is currently in the low double digits, with no deaths reported. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is tracking the cases across the state and the US.
